Our History

15 years of science, built in Australia

For 15 years, Crux Biolabs has grown from a specialist ELISA-kit manufacturer into a trusted Australian bioanalytical partner for clinical development. Our progress has been shaped by scientific curiosity, a commitment to quality and enduring relationships with sponsors, researchers and collaborators.

Today, we combine specialist expertise, accredited laboratory capabilities and an agile way of working to support programs across pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, immunogenicity, cellular bioanalysis and laboratory services.

15 years of progress

From our beginnings in 2011 to our expanding clinical bioanalytical capabilities today, each milestone reflects continued investment in our people, technologies, quality systems and laboratory capacity.

2011

  • Crux Biolabs was established, initially specialising in ELISA-kit manufacturing for Australia’s academic research sector.

2016

  • We expanded our service offering with multiplex analysis through the addition of a Luminex platform.

2017

  • We broadened our client base to include biotechnology and pharmaceutical organisations and changed our name from elisakit.com to Crux Biolabs.

2018

  • We implemented an ISO/IEC-accredited quality management system, expanded into clinical-trial laboratory services, and added PBMC processing and flow cytometry capabilities.

2019

  • We achieved NATA accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025.
  • We established a partnership with a global laboratory network and local accredited oncology and virology laboratories.

2020

  • We relocated to a 460 m² facility in Bayswater, approximately four times the size of our previous site.
  • We expanded support for global sponsors and increased our focus on clinical-study delivery.

2022

  • We added the MSD platform and nucleic-acid extraction capabilities, while expanding the laboratory facility by approximately 145%.

2023

  • We strengthened our immunoassay quality framework through GCLP accreditation.
  • We added LC-MS/MS capabilities for small-molecule pharmacokinetic analysis.

2024

  • Partnered with KCAS Bio to establish Australia’s first bioanalytical laboratory with spectral flow cytometry capabilities.
  • Created a globally harmonised spectral flow cytometry platform to support consistent assay delivery across clinical development programs.

2025

  • Doubled our investment in LC-MS/MS instrumentation to expand small-molecule pharmacokinetic analysis capacity and capability.

Built for what comes next

Fifteen years of scientific progress has built the capability, quality systems and collaborative approach that guide Crux Biolabs today. We continue to invest in our people, technologies and partnerships to support the evolving bioanalytical needs of clinical development programs.
